PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To solve the problem of having difficulty in distinguishing which mode variation a notification sound belongs to, when a notifying function operates, if similar mode variations (indications and advance notice sounds for timer mode variations 1,2 for example) exist. SOLUTION: An electronic clock, whose modes having the function of notification are provided with two or more mode variations respectively, has a mode designation means 12 for selecting and designating one among two or more mode variations, a display means 17 for displaying the content of the designated mode variation, and an acoustic means 20 which produces a notification sound corresponding to the designated mode variation. The electronic clock is equipped with a notification selecting means 18, which gives priority to a notifying function for the mode variation designated by the designation means 12, and is so configured that the notification sound selected by the selecting means 18 is produced by the acoustic means 20 while the content of the mode variation designated by the designation means 12 is displayed.
