PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To construct a backup system in which a burden is not imposed on maintenance while preventing trouble caused by centralized management of backup data. SOLUTION: Each image storage server 1 acquires its status information by a self-diagnostic part 17 and transmits the information to a base station 3. In the base station 3, a fault machine diagnostic part 32 specifies an image storage server 1 having potentiality of failure and at the same time, an image storage server 1 in a normal status is judged as a backup device. A copy instruction part 34 transmits a copy instruction designating the backup device to the image storage server 1 having potentiality of failure. The image storage server 1 which receives the copy instruction, transmits a copy of the image to the image storage server 1 which is the backup device by an information distribution part 15.
