PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a press-type pipe joint tightening checking method for ensuring the safety of a pipe not to cause any liquid leakage accident by reliably finding out any non-tightening, and a press-type pipe joint. SOLUTION: In a press-type pipe joint execution work in which an annular recessed groove is formed in an inner circumferential of a socket expanded so that a connection pipe is fitted therein, and an O-ring is fitted to the annular recessed groove, an identification color different from a surface color of the press-type pipe joint, or on the contrary, an identification color similar to the surface color of the joint is given to a surface of a part to be caulked according to the caulking pressure or timing when the connection pipe is inserted in the socket, and the socket is caulked by a press tool.
