PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a portable telephone system capable of eliminating the operational stress of a user by shortening a communication time. SOLUTION: When various pieces of Web information, etc., are acquired, a control part 3 performs communication control according to a situation in a packet communication control part 33 or a line exchange communication control part 31, modulates a data acquisition request in a radio part 2 and transmits the data acquisition request to a network side through an antenna 1. The network side transmits data corresponding to the data acquisition request to the portable telephone system, and the portable telephone system receives the data by the antenna 1, demodulates the data in a radio part 2 and inputs the demodulated data to the control part 3. The control part 3 processes the data according to a situation in the packet communication control part 33 or the line exchange communication control part 31 and displays the data on a display part 4.
