PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a system capable of remotely controlling a network device by an application interface technology which is easy and safe to implement or upgrade and highly cost-effective. SOLUTION: The method defines application programming interfaces 200, 205, 210, 300, 400, 500 and 505 to remotely control a testing device 100 controlled by another interface 125. The method and the system comprise a step to define commands and parameters 200, 205, 210, 300, 400, 500 and 505 having higher abstractiveness than the interfaces, and a step to create an XML document based on the commands and the parameters 200, 205, 210, 300, 400, 500 and 505 and provide the application programming interfaces 200, 205, 210, 300, 400, 500 and 505 to control the testing device 100.
