PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an electric deionizing apparatus in which satisfactory deionization can be performed by applying electric current of a required quantity even when the voltage to be impressed between the electrodes is made low. SOLUTION: The first cation exchange membrane 3, an anion exchange membrane 4 and the second cation exchange membrane 3' are arranged one by one between a cathode 1 and an anode 2 so that a concentration chamber-cum-cathode chamber 5, a desalination chamber 7, a concentration chamber 10 and an anode chamber 6 are formed successively between the cathode 1 and the anode 2. A cation exchange resin 8 is packed in each of the chambers 5 and 6. The resin 8 and an anion exchange resin 9 are packed in the chamber 7 in a mixed state. Original water or deionized water is introduced into the chamber 6 and the water discharged from the chamber 6 is made to flow through the chambers 10 and 5 successively. COPYRIGHT: (C)2004,JPO
