OPTICAL RECORDING MEDIUM AND IMIDE COMPOUND

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an optical recording medium capable of recording and reproducing data using noteworthy laser beams with 300-500 nm wavelength as a high-density optical recording medium, especially bluish purple laser beams with 400-410 nm wavelength by forming a recording layer of an imide compound.

SOLUTION: This optical recording medium has at least a single recording layer containing one or more of compounds selected from imide compounds which are composed of each independent aromatic ring residue bonded together through a linking group and has at least one imide group.
