PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To extend the drive time of a digital camera by driving the digital camera even in a state where the voltage of a battery drops. SOLUTION: The digital camera acquires a plurality of images up to the imaging limitation sheet number. A battery voltage is continuously monitored during the serial shooting operation and is compared with a first reference voltage V1 required for recording 20 images and a second reference voltage V2 required for recording 10 images. When the battery voltage drops to the first reference voltage V1, the imaging limitation sheet number is reduced from 20 to 10 and the capacity of an image memory to be assigned to the storage of the image is reduced as compared with specific reference capacity. A a result, a battery voltage BV to be secured becomes a voltage required for recording 10 images, thus continuing the serial shooting operation to a point of time when the battery voltage BV drops to the second reference voltage V2.
