PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide polarizing glass realizing polarization characteristic that it shows a high quenching ratio in a wide band, that is, a visible region and an infrared region. SOLUTION: The polarizing glass exhibits a predetermined polarization characteristic by drawing glass in which a metal halide particle group having a given particle size distribution is mixed and then reducing the metal halide particles so that it is made metal, and the metal halide particle group having the given particle size distribution before drawing is set so that the standard deviation of the particle size distribution is at least 20nm.
