PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method and an apparatus for manufacturing a twisted electric wire which twists a plurality of electric wires together at uniform pitches. SOLUTION: The manufacturing apparatus comprises a driving means 2 for revolving a plurality of electric wires with their lengths aligned with a rotary axis, grippers 10 for gripping the ends of the plurality of electric wires, first and second twisters 52, 62 movably disposed between the two grippers for twisting the plurality of electric wires, a rotary shaft 7 driven by a rotation force from the driving means for revolving the plurality of electric wires in the first and the second twisters, and first and second shifting shafts 8, 9 for shifting the first and the second twisters from positions adjacent to the grippers to mid positions.
