PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a compact paper money paying-out device having a paper money length detecting device. SOLUTION: In this paper money paying-out device having a holding chamber in which paper money is held in bulk and a paper money carrying device arranged near the holding chamber for carrying paper money and a paying-out port, the paper money carrying device is formed as a roller, and a U-shaped paper money route is constituted at the side part of the holding chamber by the roller, and a length sensor is arranged at the U-shaped part.
