PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a tooth brush, improved in effect of removing plaque of the tooth surface by contact with the outer peripheral surface of the bristle by easily and firmly forming fine projecting and recessed parts on the outer peripheral surface of the bristle. SOLUTION: In this toothbrush 10, a plurality of tufts 12 formed by binding together a plurality of bristles 11 are planted in a bristle planting bed 14. Part of the bristles 11 are braided bristles made by weaving a plurality of fine yarns 17 around a core material 16 by braiding. The core material 16 is preferably one or two or more mono-filaments. A spiral thread 23 formed of mono-filaments is spirally wound around the core material 16, and further two or more fine yarns 17 may be woven therein. The end part of the braided bristle 11 may be rounded by heat fusing, or loosened to be still forked. COPYRIGHT: (C)2004,JPO
