<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a mailbox device capable of efficiently sending out, collecting, and delivering mail and parcels. <P>SOLUTION: A mailbox 2 or a locker 3 is arranged for acquiring information concerning address, weight, etc. of the mail or the parcel and settling accounts of the delivery fee according to calculations based on the acquired information. The mailbox 2 or the locker 3 acquires the address information and other distinctive information such as a destination and a delivery type, and informs a center 1 of the acquired information.
