<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To prevent vibrations and noise and to improve reliability. <P>SOLUTION: An optical reflection element 11 for color changeover successively repeatedly irradiates a red light separation prism 13, a green light separation prism 14 and a blue light separating prism 15 with light by the successive ON/OFF of the mirrors of an area 11r for red, an area 11g for green and an area 11b for blue. From the red light separation prism 13, the green light separation prism 14 and the blue light separation prism 15, red light, green light and blue light are respectively separated and successively emitted to the optical reflection element 7 for display, and the above-mentioned operation is repeatedly performed. Illumination light emitted from a color separation unit 6 is modulated corresponding to video signals in the optical reflection element 7 for the display and an image on the optical reflection element 7 for the display is magnified and projected on a screen through a projection lens 9. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2004,JPO |
