LIGHT GUIDE, METHOD FOR MANUFACTURING LIGHT GUIDE, AND LIQUID CRYSTAL DISPLAY DEVICE

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To suppress increase in a manufacturing cost by reducing defect in manufacture of a backlight generated by dust and of a liquid crystal display device using the backlight with the use of a light guide.

SOLUTION: The light guide is provided with a film, a polarization element 3 equipped with a polarization element layer formed on the film and a light guide layer 4 to which the film of the polarization element 3 is bonded and is constructed by bonding (thermocompression bonding etc.) the film of the polarization element 3 and the light guide layer 4 to each other. Thereby the defect in manufactures generated by dust is prevented.
