PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an image blur correcting camera capable of selecting custom setting suitable to user's taste in terms of image blur correction. SOLUTION: The photographing device has a photographing optical system 21, a shake detection means 3 detecting the shake of the device including the optical system 21, a shake correction means 1 correcting the blur of a photographic image obtained by the optical system 21 by deflecting the optical axis of the optical system 21 based on the result of detection by the detection means 3, and photographing preparation means 22 and 23 performing photographing preparation operation different from shake correction. Furthermore, the device is equipped with a release switch SW2 permitting exposure for a recording medium 2 with light passing through the optical system 21, a first photographing preparation switch SW1 turned on before turning on the switch SW2, a second photographing preparation switch SW3 actuated regardless of the operation of the switch SW2, provided separately from the first preparation switch and capable of starting the photographing preparation means, and a custom setting means 32 setting whether or not the shake correction means is started by the switch SW3.
