PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a camera capable of preventing the leakage of a light beam from a light shielding blade group and improving durability even in the case of contriving the speeding-up of shutter charge. SOLUTION: The camera is equipped with a shutter unit consisting of a plurality of light shielding blades and having a blade driving mechanism for driving the light shielding blade group capable of opening/closing a light passing port, a charge means for charging the blade driving mechanism to a traveling start position by receiving driving force from a driving source, and a control means for switching the driving speed of the charge means by controlling the driving of the driving source.
