PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a pretreatment method and a pretreatment apparatus for stably and surely charging collected human wastes to a sewer. SOLUTION: In the pretreatment method of human wastes, a fibrous medicament or the fibrous medicament and a hydrogen sulfide removing agent are added to the collected human wastes to catch pollutants contained in the collected human wastes with the fibrous medicament and then solid-liquid separation by a screen is performed. In the pretreatment method, an objective material which is caught by the fibrous medicament and is separated by the screen can be sand, the fibrous medicament is chemical synthetic fiber or natural fiber, and the hydrogen sulfide removing agent can be a metallic salt or an oxidizing agent. Further the pretreatment apparatus of the human wastes is constituted of a means for adding the fibrous medicament to the collected human wastes and the screen for performing solid-liquid separation of the added material.
