PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To enable an X-ray image display of a high quality, by reducing a phenomenon that light and shade are generated between lines (a shading phenomenon). SOLUTION: The X-ray image display is provided with a flat panel detector having an ineffective area which is not involved in an image formation, and an effective area which takes part in the image projection, whereas electric charge is read out first from detecting elements existing in the ineffective area, prior to the detecting elements existing in the effective area. Image signals are created by using the electric charge existing in the effective area out of the electric charge read out. Through such a process, the shading phenomenon is reduced, thereby enabling the X-ray image display of the high quality. COPYRIGHT: (C)2004,JPO
