PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an extremely excellent method for determining hydrogen peroxide in body fluid for the clinical examination and an apparatus for hydrogen peroxide determination. SOLUTION: The method for the determination of hydrogen peroxide comprises the reaction of immobilized horseradish peroxidase with hydrogen peroxide and an imidazole compound in an alkaline environment and the determination of the intensity of chemiluminescence generated by the reaction. The apparatus for the determination of hydrogen peroxide is provided with a mobile phase flow channel F1 of the body fluid having a pump 11 for chromatogaphy and an autosampler 12, a mobile phase flow channel F2 of the solution of an imidazole compound and an alkaline buffer solution having a pump 21 for chromatography, and a merged channel F3 for merging the mobile phase channels. The merged channel F3 is connected to a chemiluminescence detector 31 provided with a flow cell filled with an immobilized solid phase of horseradish peroxidase. A photomultiplier tube 33 of the chemiluminescence detector 31 is placed close to the front face of the flow cell 32 of the chemiluminescence detector 31. COPYRIGHT: (C)2004,JPO
