PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a lock suitably applied to a Welsh onion cultivation method for etiolating the Welsh onion, wherein the method requires no shading by earthing up or chaff and is preferably used for methods for etiolating Welsh onions without using a mulch film. SOLUTION: This lock comprises a fitting element 22 freely fitted on a support 20 stood along a ridge at a predetermined space and a claw 23 collocated with the fitting element 22 and nipping and fixing a braid-shaped body 16 attaching to the outer surface of the support 20, wherein a mulch film 12 is lifted and kept to be supported by the string 16 engaged with the claw 23, and thereby the root part of the Welsh onion 11 is shaded and etiolated.
