PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a lifting preventing device which inhibits lifting of a shutter curtain in a closed state, above the location of a throating, to thereby prevent formation of a gap below the shutter curtain due to unauthentic lifting. SOLUTION: The shutter curtain lifting preventing device includes the throating 17 at the lower end thereof, and has both ends thereof inserted into a pair of guide rails which are arranged on both right and left sides of an opening in a vertically extending manner. The throating 17 has an upper throating section 19 which is connected to the shutter curtain and extends in an opening frontage width direction, and a lower throating section 25 which is swingingly hung from the upper throating section 19 via a shaft 27 along an upper throating section 19 extending direction. According to the lifting preventing device, a lock arm 29 which engages with a building skeleton by following the swinging of the lower throating section 25 to inhibit the lifting of the shutter curtain, is installed between the upper throating section 19 and the lower throating section 25.
