PURPOSE: A limited slip differential for a vehicle is provided to prevent preload of a spring from lowering and operate stably and smoothly by removing rotational difference with generating friction force of a disk through a side gear. CONSTITUTION: Side gears(3,4) are engaged with pinion gears(5,6) in a differential case(10) with a ring gear(2) engaged with an input shaft(1), and inserted to left and right axle shafts(20,20') driving left and right wheels. A limited slip differential restricts differential operation between the side gears and the differential case, and comprises a cam plate(50) having cam surfaces(50a) corresponding to cam surfaces(3a,4a) of the side gears, a multi-disk clutch(40) contacted to the back of the cam plate to restrict differential operation and a preload spring(30) generating preload and restoring force by pressing the multi-disk clutch with the cam plate in operating the side gears between the multi-disk clutch and the differential case. |
