<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method for assaying lamivudine-resistant HBV in higher sensitivity than that of a known method. <P>SOLUTION: The method for assaying lamivudine-resistant hepatitis B virus comprises processes of (1) selectively transferring Nde I part to a wild virus-derived amplified product by using a fixed primer, (2) digesting the obtained amplified product by Nde I to selectively digest the wild virus-derived amplified product, (3) then carrying out a nucleic acid amplification method using a primer which is hybridized with a domain to overlap a fixed PNA (peptide nucleic acid) in the presence of the PNA and amplifies YVDD variant gene and YIDD variant of the gene as one primer and amplifying the YVDD variant gene and/or the YIDD variant gene contained in a specimen by the method and (4) assaying the amplified product obtained by the process (3). <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2004,JPO |
