METHOD FOR COLLECTING MEASUREMENT DATA

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method for collecting measurement data from a measuring instrument without depending on the protocol of the measuring instrument. SOLUTION: The method for collecting data from different types of test and measuring instruments and a device using the method are disclosed. The measuring instrument such as a VQT or a DNA measures a network and generates the measurement data according to the protocol. The data are encoded to formats such as an XML without depending on the protocol. The encoded data are transmitted via an IP network and decoded before they are received by a client.
