PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To reduce a load to an environment by reducing a quantity of Pb included in a material of a cage of a power roller bearing, and to improve durability of a toroidal continuously variable transmission. SOLUTION: This toroidal continuously variable transmission has freely rotatable input disc 2 and output disc 4 having respectively a cross-sectional circular arc-shaped recessed surface on mutually opposing inside surfaces 2a and 4a, the power roller bearing having a power roller 9 sandwiched between the inside surface 2a of the input disc 2 and the inside surface 4a of the output disc 4 and a trunnion 7 for supporting the power roller bearing via a displacement shaft 8 so that the power roller 9 can tilt in the peripheral direction of the circular arc-shaped recessed surface of the inside surfaces 2a and 4a to the respective inside surfaces 2a and 4a. The cage for tiltably holding a rolling body 14 of the power roller bearing is formed of high strength brass, and the Pb quantity of the high strength brass is set to 0.2 wt.% or less.
