PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an electrodeless discharge lamp lighting device which can prevent audible noise easily when an intermittent light control method is used. SOLUTION: The electrodeless discharge lamp lighting device comprises a light emitting body 1 in which light emitting gas is enclosed, a magnetic body 2 arranged near to the light emitting body 1, a high frequency power source 4 having a semiconductor element, generating high frequency, a driving circuit 5 driving the semiconductor element arranged in the high frequency power source 4, a period changing means 7 periodically changing the light output of the light emitting body 1, and a coil 6 coiled around the magnetic body 2 connected to the high frequency power source 4. The period changing means 7 changes the output of the driving circuit 5 so as to make the magnetic flux density in the magnetic body at respective state of periodic change of the light output of the light emitting body 1 almost constant.
