PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a communication navigation device capable of receiving image data of a video telephone or the like and receiving navigation data most suitably according to the state, when the communication navigation device receives the image data of the video telephone or the like and the navigation data from the outside. SOLUTION: This device is equipped with a communication part 7 for receiving the navigation data such as map data used for navigation processing and the image data for the video telephone from an external server, a display part 12 for displaying a map of the periphery of the own car position and the image for the video telephone, and a control part 4 for performing the navigation processing by using the received navigation data, performing signal processing of the image data, and performing display updation of the map of the periphery of its own car position displayed on the display part 12 at longer updation intervals when receiving the image data than when not receiving the data, as its own car position is changed by vehicle movement.
