PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a digital video disk-like recording medium that zones a received digital data stream as a recording aggregation and prepares and records the time searching information of its zoned recording aggregation. SOLUTION: The received digital stream is zoned and recorded in a recording aggregation unit. Index information for identifying the position of time searching information that corresponds to the first recording unit of the zoned and recorded recording aggregation is attached and recorded to it. At the time of regenerating or searching, regenerating or an edit position are more firstly and correctly searched by specifying corresponded recording aggregation by using time information that corresponds to a specified position and the start time information of the recording aggregation and by using the index information of the time searching information of its recording aggregation.
