<p><P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an automated guided vehicle (AGV) system and method capable of preventing an AGV from arriving at a position different from a destination. <P>SOLUTION: An electromagnetic induction type AGV (20) traveling by being guided by an electromagnetic induction line network consisting of a plurality of electromagnetic induction lines (A, B, B') detects magnetic flux generation means (16a, 16b) arranged in the vicinity of the electromagnetic induction lines (A, B, B') and moves from one electromagnetic induction line of the electromagnetic induction line network to another electromagnetic induction line crossing with the former electromagnetic induction line. The AGV is provided with: induction line selection devices (12a, 12b) for selectively supplying currents to these electromagnetic induction lines (A, B, B'); and a magnetic flux means selection device (12c) having structure to be excited by supplying power to the magnetic flux generation means (16a, 16b) and capable of selectively exciting the magnetic flux generation means (16a, 16b). <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2004,JPO</p> |
