PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an electrodeless discharge lamp lighter in which, even if an oscillation stop time of a main amplifier is not provided, lighting is brisk as a lighting of an electrodeless discharge lamp, and furthermore the light is switched on without flickering, and in which ignition trigger time duration can be shortened. SOLUTION: In the electrodeless discharge lamp lighting device composed of a power conversion circuit containing at least one switching element which outputs a high frequency voltage by receiving power supply from a direct current power source E, an induction coil 5 connected to an output end of this power conversion circuit, and the electrode-less discharge lamp 6 lit with discharge gas encapsulated in its bulb arranged close to this induction coil 5, after the direct-current power source E starts, the power conversion circuit outputs a high frequency voltage even before the output of the direct power source E reaches a stable voltage, and by frequency variable control of the power conversion circuit or by an on-duty variable control in the switching element, this device keeps the high frequency voltage applied to the induction coil 5 nearly constant.
