PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To issue an error notification to an originator when image data sent by electronic mail cannot be received. SOLUTION: Image data of electronic mail are stored for the time being. Next, the format of the image data is inverted in step 12. Then, the data are expanded by a compression and expansion part 8 and stored. The stored image data are printed by a printer part 11. When printing, a header part is removed from the electronic mail and only binary image data are printed out.
