PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To realize a high-definition display and a superimposed display by applying an H/W composition to display signals. SOLUTION: The image composite display device is composed of input I/F sections 101, 102 for inputting display signals, a synchronous control section 103 for synchronously controlling and outputting an output of the input I/F, a primary buffer memory 104 for storing the output, an S/C 107 for inputting and scan-converting video signals, a video memory 108 for coping with video for storing the output, a trail LUT 112 for inputting the read-out of the memory and outputting after luminance processing, a chromakey composition function section 106 for chromakey processing the output of the primary buffer memory 104 and the output of the trail LUT 112, an output picture memory 109 for storing the output, output I/F means 110, 111 for reading out of the memory synchronously with TV scanning and outputting high-definition display signals 4 and superimposed display signals 5 by carrying out D/A conversion or the like, and a control CPU 105 for controlling the synchronization control means 103 or the like.
