PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To display a signal waveform using a trigger point detected in the last as a base point and a signal waveform using a trigger point detected in the next as the base point to be compared surely and easily. SOLUTION: This waveform recorder 1 is provided with an A/D converting part for sampling an input signal to generate a waveform data, a waveform data memory for recording the waveform data, and a control part for retrieving the recorded waveform data to detect a trigger point satisfying a prescribed trigger condition, and for displaying, on a display part 3, the signal waveform as to the input signal by a prescribed time using the detected trigger point as the base point, based on the waveform data. The control part displays, on the display part 3, the signal waveform Wp2 using the trigger point Tp2 detected in the next as the base point, under the condition where the signal waveform Wp1 using the trigger point Tp1 detected in the last as the base point is displayed on the display part 3, to conform the fellow trigger points Tp1, Tp2 of the signal waveforms Wp1, Wp2 each other.
