PURPOSE: Provided is a composition for preventing and treating dementia and poor memory with minocycline which inhibits the death of brain cells induced by the toxicity of amyloid beta protein or C-extreme (CT105) protein, and recovers the poor memory induced thereby. CONSTITUTION: The pharmaceutical composition for preventing and treating dementia and poor memory comprises minocycline as an effective component to inhibit the death of brain cells. The composition inhibits the toxicity to the brain cells and the poor memory induced by amyloid beta protein, and C-extreme protein. The composition is used in preventing and treating the dementia in Alzheimer's disease, and the learning cognitive dysfunction due to the poor memory.
