PURPOSE: A system for monitoring and recording a wanted car by the police is provided to have a low cost in comparison with a conventional auto vehicle number identification(AVNI) and to be easily installed. CONSTITUTION: A system for monitoring and recording a wanted car by the police includes a lateral column(1), a camera unit(2), an illumination unit(3), a recognition unit(5), an operational device unit(7) and an image monitoring device. The camera unit(2) and the illumination unit(3) are installed on the top portion of the lateral column(1). The recognition unit(5) is provided with a recognition processor and a control processor for converting the inputted car image from the camera unit(2). The illumination unit(3) is used for photographing the car during the night. And, the operational device unit(7) controls the overall spot area by searching the device and the data of the spot area through a dedicated line.
