SYSTEM FOR MANAGING ATM COMMUNICATION NETWORK AND METHOD THEREFOR

PURPOSE: A system for managing an ATM(Asynchronous Transfer Mode) communication network and a method therefor are provided to automatically recover fault by automatically securing a main path and an alternative path necessary for composing a new soft-PVC(Permanent Virtual Connection) in a soft-PVC service. CONSTITUTION: A soft-PVC generating unit(110) composes an ATM communication network service according to the service subscription of a subscriber. A path management unit(120) automatically generates and secures a virtual path for the new composition of the ATM communication network service according to the request of the soft-PVC generating unit(110) by a routing algorithm, and transmits information about the secured virtual path to the soft-PVC generating unit(110). A switch control unit(140) manages and controls the soft-PVC generating unit(110) and the path management unit(120), and controls a switch of an ATM communication network so that the switch newly composes the ATM communication network service with respect to the secured virtual path.
