PURPOSE: A friction roller drive pallet transfer device is provided to synchronize front and rear friction rollers by one driving source and to project and retreat the friction rollers. CONSTITUTION: A friction roller drive pallet transfer device has a lifter(7) to be hoisted and lowered. Friction rollers(21,21') are installed to the ends of the longitudinal direction of the lifter. The friction rollers are driven and synchronized by a single driving source, and the friction rollers fit guide plates of a pallet. The friction roller drive pallet transfer device comprises a moving support installed reciprocatably in the longitudinal direction of the lifter; a pair of support arms rotatably supported on the moving support in about a horizontal direction; the friction rollers supported to the tip of each support arm horizontally, to fit the guide plates fixed to the pallet from the sides; a first driving mechanism(26) mounted on the moving support, to rotate the friction rollers in the right and reverse directions; and a second driving mechanism(35) installed at a predetermined position of a return unit, to reciprocate the moving support rectilinearly. The friction roller drive pallet transfer device moves the friction rollers by the second driving mechanism while rotating the friction rollers by the first driving mechanism.
