Flat panel sound radiator with fire protective back box

A fire protective back box (23) with an opening (31), is mounted to the sound radiator covering and encloses the diaphragm (14) supported by the frame (13) of the sound radiator (12). The fire protective back box has a porous panel (33) that exhibits a Frasier air flow between o and 399 cubic feet per square foot per minute. Independent claims are also included for the following: (1) fire protective back box; (2) method of protecting fire susceptible components of sound radiator from fire hazards; and (3) fire protected flat panel radiator assembly.
