A television broadcasting system detecting apparatus for use on board a vehicle, comprising a vehicle position detector, a broadcasting system selector, a television receiver, a display and an audio unit with speakers. The vehicle position detector detects the vehicle's current position. The broadcasting system selector selects from a plurality of preset broadcasting systems a system that matches the detected vehicle position.
