A shielding sheath covers the output cable which is provided for connecting the circuit unit including a starter transformer (13), and high voltage discharge lamp. A ground connector of the bus bar (23) which is connectable to ground side of the electrical power source, shielding sheath and base (26) are constructed to be grounded at one location under a condition that the circuit unit is accommodated with in the base.
