Polyurethanes are obtained continuously by introducing an organic polyisocyanate and an organic material containing reactive hydrogen at controlled rates into a heated mixing chamber having a high speed mixer, allowing the resultant mixture to react in a second heated mixing chamber, and reacting the intermediate produced, in a third cooled mixing chamber having a high speed mixer with more polyisocyanate which enters this third chamber at a rate correlated with the rates of entry of the components into the first mixing chamber. Optional additions are water (for cellularity) cross linkers, amine catalysts, plasticizers and fillers. Examples of suitable reactants are given.ALSO:Polyurethanes, which may be cellular, are obtained continuously by introducing an organic polyisocyanate and an organic material containing reactive hydrogen at controlled rates into a heated mixing chamber having a high speed mixer, allowing the resultant mixture to react in a second heated mixing chamber, and reacting the intermediate produced, in a third, cooled, mixing chamber having a high speed mixer with more polyisocyanate which enters this third chamber at a rate correlated with the rates of entry of the components into the first mixing chamber.
