A method for closing hermetically the housing (1) of a capacitor, particularly a capacitor provided with an overpressure device, the housing being composed of a cylindrical container (2) and a cover (3), both made of plastics, comprising the steps of : providing an annular shoulder (13) inside the container (2) at a distance from the edge of the container that is greater than the thickness of the peripheral region of the cover; placing the cover (3) inside the container (2) so that it rests on the annular shoulder (13), so that the edge of the container protrudes above the peripheral region of the cover with an annular portion; and bending, while applying heat, the annular portion over the peripheral region of the cover so as to provide a lip (15) that is adapted to retain hermetically the cover between the lip (15) and the shoulder (13). <IMAGE> |
