Separation of mixtures by a membrane process with thermal conditioning of the feed mixture

A separation process, for hydrocarbon liquids, involves one or more membrane stages, where the pressure of the feed liquid is raised, e.g. to 1.5-200 bar absolute, and then the feed partially or completely vaporized by heating, before supplying it to a membrane module, e.g. at a temperature of -20 to +300 degreesC. Between 90 -99.9% of the energy input is provided as thermal energy.
