The closure valve for a fluid flow duct has a movable obturator (2) which can rotate to engage a seating ring (9). The obturator has a drive shaft with a flexible drive connection in the direction of the pivot axis and-or in a direction normal to this. There can be a flexible seal between the drive and the obturator. The seal can be formed by a bellows. Claims include a method of operating the closure valve.
