PURPOSE: Provided are thermotropic liquid crystal polymer microcapsules, a method for preparing the same and cosmetic composition containing the same microcapsules capable of allowing the liquid crystal to maintain its phase behavior in a polymer. CONSTITUTION: The method comprises the steps of (a) dissolving thermotropic liquid crystal and monomers in a solvent and adding initiators to the solvent using supersonic waves, (b) feeding the solution of the step (a) to an aqueous solution containing dispersion stabilizing agent, (c) emulsifying the solution of the step (b), thereby obtaining emulsion, and (d) adding retarder to the emulsion and causing suspension polymerization, thereby obtaining thermotropic liquid crystal polymer capsules.
