When a car driver holds the accelerator pedal depressed and neither the brake pedal nor the clutch pedal and from this situation suddenly wishes to brake he rapidly removes his foot from the accelerator pedal in order to depress the brake pedal. This results in the brake light being activated immediately before braking actually occurs, entailing that oncoming traffic from behind receives an early warning and can react accordingly. This provides the advantage that traffic safety is enhanced, with a decrease in traffic accidents and the resultant economic damage.
