The paper feed cylinder (8) for use in the folding section of a web-fed rotary printing press has paper grippers (24) around its circumference. These are made up of two sections (24.1, 24.2) at an angle to each other and cooperate with cutters (23). They can swivel from an inactive position, where they are in contact with a first pivot (26), to a second, gripping position where they are in contact with a pivot (25, 30) which is further from the circumference of the cylinder.
