The oscillator uses an oscillation transistor (N1) with a drain-gate feedback loop for determining its operating point and a current reflector (P1/P2) acting as the load, the output signal (OUT) obtained via a pair of complementary transistors (N2/P3) directly coupled to the oscillation transistor. The input signal of the oscillation transistor is coupled via a capacitor (C3) to the common gate of the current reflector. The current source of the current reflector can be regulated in dependence on the oscillation amplitude.
