PURPOSE: A camera ID detector and a photographing data recorder employing the camera ID detector are provided to easily detect and record camera ID information inserted in data captured by multiple cameras. CONSTITUTION: A camera ID detector includes a recording unit(280), a multiplexer, a storage unit(520), an ID detecting unit, and a main controller(500). The recording unit records data captured by a plurality of cameras in a recording medium(320). The multiplexer inserts camera ID information into the data. The storage unit stores ID insertion information that is set for the ID information inserting operation of the multiplexer. The ID detecting unit detects the ID information from the data on the basis of the ID insertion information stored in the storage unit. The main controller provides the ID insertion information to the ID detector to control the operation of the ID detector when the data is inputted to the ID detector, and controls the recording unit to record the ID information detected by the ID detector and the data output from the multiplexer.
